AFTERCARE

  • Wash your hands before touching a new tattoo

  • I use second skin to cover all the tattoos (unless you are allergic to it) its a waterproof sticker/plaster that you leave on for the first 1-3 days after getting your tattoo and will keep it safe from infections.

To remove the second skin I recommend to do it in the shower, you will have something called an “ink sack” which is just ink, blood & plasma from the tattoo and its completely normal. If you have lots of liquid in it you can remove it as it’s not good for the tattoo to be wet all the time (example: a big bubble of liquid)

  • What if the second skin fall during the first day? if it falls, which may happen if its rubbing too much with your clothes or just by sweat (common reason in summer) I recommend to wash it & and cover it with cling film just for the first night.

  • After removing the second skin, wash it with water or with neutral soap without rubbing it too hard, dry the area with kitchen roll or let it air dry, never use a towel during the healing process!

  • You can moisture the tattoo a couple times a day with a really thin layer of moisturiser ( I recommend cocoa butter & coconut oil) don’t over moisturise it! keep in mind its a healing wound and it shouldn’t be wet all the time.

  • It will take around 3 weeks for your tattoo to heal completely, until its fully healed don’t: wear sunscreen, take baths, swim in the sea or expose it to the direct sunlight for too long.

  • After its healed you can use sunscreen & moisturiser to make sure it stays looking as good over the years!

If there’s anything else you have doubts about, or you want some advice on your healing tattoo, send me and email at nolseytattoo@gmail.com or an DM on my instagram @nolseytattoo
